MuST

The GUM’s Museum Student Team
Students are part of the GUM’s work. The Museum Student Team, abbreviated to MuST, consists of a group of students from various degree programmes. The students help behind the scenes of the museum, attend workshops by museum professionals and explore various collections and museums. They connect their own world with that of the museum.

We aim for MuST to bring the student world to the GUM.

From workshops on the decolonisation of collections, museum texts, communication and educational activities to ‘Out and about with the keys’ to the archaeology, ethnography, medicine and veterinary collections.

From feedback sessions on our museum texts, campaign visuals and room names to fun pizza nights and crazy ideas for our museum shop.

The MuST also plays an active role in the GUM. On Museum Night, for example, they went out to tell visitors all about our future museum with a pop-up campaign. They are also working intensively on the opening weekend of the GUM.

The MuST is a fantastic crew of around 30 enthusiastic students between the ages of 18 and 26, from more than 20 different disciplines, who are helping to shape the future of the GUM.
