Accessibility
The GUM is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility:
The reception is easily accessible. A lowered zone is available so that we can communicate face to face.
There is lift access to all the different floors of the GUM.
The toilets are suitable for disabled use.
Portable walking chairs are available on the various floors.
When you report to 'Info & Tickets', we can provide a personal access badge that gives you easy access to the different floors by lift.
Be sure to check out our reduced entrance fees too.
The museum texts are available in Dutch and English in the museum space. If you would like to consult the French or German texts, please tell the staff at the 'Info & Tickets' desk. We will be happy to give you the texts.
The GUM intends to continue improving accessibility in the years ahead. If you have any tips or feedback as a user, please let us know at info.gum@ugent.be.
If you are currently experiencing any inconvenience during your museum visit, please let us know. We will take your feedback into account..
Most of the Botanical Garden and greenhouses are accessible to people with reduced mobility. Some of the narrower paths are not suitable for walking aids or wheelchair users. If you have reduced mobility and want to visit the Tropical Greenhouse, please speak to one of our staff. They will give you access through a side door. The Botanical Garden also has disabled toilet facilities.
