DARK Matinee | Short D*ck Man

  • 26 October 2025 - 15:00 - 17:00

In the film Short Dick Man, Matthijs Janssen explores why he has been burdened his entire life by crippling insecurity about the size of his penis. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Matthijs Janssen and Prof. Piet Hoebeke.

In an ultimate attempt to accept his body, Matthijs seeks treatment from a psychologist, relives memories that have contributed to his insecurity, and seeks confrontation. Gradually, Matthijs discovers that the problem is much bigger than himself. And however vulnerable his quest may be, perhaps this film is the last disclaimer he will ever have to give.

After the screening, Matthijs and Prof. Piet Hoebeke will discuss the film and penile dysmorphia disorder (PDD), a psychological condition in which a person is overly concerned about the size or shape of their penis, even though it is actually normal.
